Ralph Riviello is Professor and Vice-Chair of Clinical Operations, Department of Emergency Medicine, at Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA.
In addition to being a board-certified emergency physician, he holds a Masters in Forensic Medicine. Dr. Riviello also serves as Founder and Medical Director for the Philadelphia Sexual Assault Center. Dr. Riviello is also a member of the Advisory Panel and Faculty for the Training Institute on Strangulation Prevention. He is the editor of the textbook, “Manual of Clinical Forensic Emergency Medicine: a guide for clinicians”. He is a Past-President of the Pennsylvania College of Emergency Physicians and Past-Chair of the American College of Emergency Physicians Forensic Medicine Section. Dr. Riviello Co-chaired the committee that revised the American College of Emergency Physicians handbook, “Evaluation and Management of the Sexually Assaulted or Sexually Abused Patient”. Recently, Dr. Riviello served on the Advisory Panel that created “A National Protocol for Sexual Abuse Medical, Forensic Examination-Pediatric” (a project of OVW) and the planning committee that produced the “SANE Program Development and Operation Guide” (a project of OVC).
