M. Elizabeth “Libby" Ralston
M. Elizabeth “Libby" Ralston was the founding director of the Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center, an accredited Children’s Advocacy Center located in Charleston, SC for 22 years until and now serves as the Director Emeritus.
Dr. Ralston served on the National Children’s Alliance (NCA) Board of Directors, the NCA mental health standard revision committee, the NCA Mental Health Implementation committee and participated in the partnership between NCA and NCTSN to develop the CAC Director’s Guide to Mental Health services.
Libby served as a training and curriculum development consultant on the NIMH Family Navigator (E3) grant, a partnership between NCA and the University of Oklahoma. She also serves as an NCA trainer and curriculum development consultant for the Enhancing Early Engagement (E3) training for CAC Victim Advocates and for the NCA ED/CEO Training Academy. She is a participant on a Clinical Supervision workgroup for CAC Mental Health treatment and on the NCA Mental Health Workforce group. In addition, she is a faculty member of Project BEST funded by The Duke Endowment with the mission of access to evidence-based trauma focused mental health services to every child in South Carolina who needs them. Libby has served as vice-chair and then chair of the South Carolina Children’s Justice Act Task Force and now serves as chair of a CJA committee to improve Child Protection Services.
