Tracy O'Brien, BSN, SANE-A, SANE-P

Tracy O’Brien has been practicing as a registered nurse since receiving her BSN in 1997 at York College of Pennsylvania.
Her nursing experience includes, medical-surgical, ambulatory surgery center, emergency department, electrophysiology, and forensic nursing. She has been a practicing sexual assault nurse with WellSpan Health’s Forensic Examiner Program since 2001. Through the Forensic examiner program, she provides forensic services to patients in the emergency department/hospital and at 2 local Children’s Advocacy Center. As program coordinator since 2011, she assists in managing the daily functioning of the program, policy development related to forensic nursing practice, best practice research, staff/hospital based/community education, and 100% peer review of examinations provided by the program.
SANE-A certified since 2006 and SANE-P certified since 2008. She co-presented “Who Said What”, a pediatric case study presentation through IAFN/Tribal Forensic Health Care. She is a member of the Multidisciplinary team in York and Adam’s County participating in case review for victims of abuse. She serves as a member on the York County Sexual Assault Alliance Committee, the York County Task Force for Human Trafficking, and the International Association of Forensic Nurses.
